Drama
Drama has been become an extremely important extracurricular club at LCC over the last ten years. Every week, an after-school club is run by Oide Mahony. This is available for all students. Each session is standalone consisting of drama exercises and improvisations allowing the students explore their creative sides and to make new friends. Drama club members have been integral cast members of the biannual school musical and from 2022 this will alternate with a full-scale drama production. To take part, simply contact Oide Mahony or join the Google Classroom group LCC Performers. All are welcome.
Music at LCC
Under the stewardship of Oide Murray and Oide Telford, music has been an integral part of life at LCC since the founding of the school. Apart from being an important curriculum subject, students are given the opportunity to participate in the school choir, the school band, to perform at school events and concerts and to take part in competitions. The school has performed numerous times at the National Concert Hall as well as local venues including retirement homes and libraries. The members of the choir also form the majority of the leading and supporting cast of the school musicals. All students are welcomed and encouraged to participate in all events. To take part, simply contact Oide Murray or join the Google Classroom group LCC Performers.
Dance at LCC
Since musicals started at LCC, dancing has been one of the most popular activities during the rehearsal process. Under the tutelage of Aisling Topher, a professional choreographer, LCC students have been put through their paces. Now, dancing has been extended year-round with after school classes available to all students. To take part, simply contact Oide Mahony or join the Google Classroom group LCC Performers.
