Merit Scheme Awards

merit-awardsThroughout the year we held  presentations of awards for students who achieved a high points tally in the Merit Scheme. Príomhoide Ní Chaisil presented certificates to the students who achieved the most points in their journals. The students worked very hard to collect as many points as they could in their journals for their involvement in class, efforts in homework, extracurricular activities and good behaviour.

Very positively, many different students achieved awards through the Merit Scheme 2009-2010, which shows the high number of students working hard and achieving.

Our winners in December were: Divya Rudraraju, Noor Ul Ain Mearon, Ross Airoldi, Samira Aldahchan, Aoife Kearns and Amelisa Dibra.

Our winners in April were: Christian Paun, Samira Aldachan, Richi James, Ross Airoldi, Daire Lawlor, Noor Ul Ain Memon, Dammi Awosanya, Christina David and Francesco Mancuso.

Our winners in June were: Amelisa Dibra, Christian Paun, Cristina David, Ciprian Anton, Ross Airoldi.

Another set of winners are pictured below for their achievement in Business Studies on the Dragons Den Project.

Well done to all the students for their hard work and participation in all school activities.

Luttrellstown C.C. Annual Report 2009/10

As Principal of Luttrellstown Community College my aim from the beginning is to develop the college as a centre of learning with the highest standards. As a school community we encourage the development of all the abilities of our students in a supportive atmosphere. Our students have made us very proud in our first year, their talents and initiative as first years have amazed us as teachers and parents. Our great teaching team has already created standards of high expectation and achievement and they carefully support the character development of our students.

The journey ahead is an exciting and challenging one! This is a unique opportunity for teachers, parents and students to participate in the development of a new modern college that pursues educational excellence in a caring and inclusive environment. We will achieve our goals by working in partnership with our parents.

Each term brings new events, each year will see new developments that we will embrace and Luttrellstown Community College will continue to grow as an active part of the community. This our first Annual Report is a short story of what has been achieved in our opening year and how we have evaluated our work. It is the result of teamwork, contributions have been made by all partners in our school community.

My thanks to all who contributed to the writing of this report in particular Mark Mc Donald who became Editor in Chief when needed.

Ní neart go cur le chéile.

Is mise, Le meas,

Fionnuala Ní Chaisil (Príomhoide)
