Dear Parents,
We urgently ask for your help in addressing a serious safety concern. Irish rail has contacted the school as there have been increasing incidents of trespassing at Porterstown railway tracks. Figures shared range from groups of three individuals to 10 at a time. These incidents occurred at various times, including during school hours (lunch time).
This behavior is not only illegal but also extremely dangerous. Trains cannot stop quickly, and any misstep can result in devastating, life-threatening accidents.
Students may not fully understand the risks. We urge you to have an open conversation with your son/daughter about the importance of rail safety. Stress the dangers of crossing tracks and the consequences of unsafe actions near trains.
Your proactive guidance & support can make a difference and help prevent a potential tragedy.
