Luttrellstown C.C. Annual Report 2010 - 2011

As we look forward to our first Junior Certificate year I am, as Principal of Luttrellstown Community College, very proud of the high standards we have reached as a community. As a school community we have encouraged the development of all the abilities of our students in a supportive atmosphere. Our student numbers are growing and the talent and initiative of our students amaze us as teachers and parents year after year. Our great teaching team has already created standards of high expectation and achievement and they carefully support the character development of our students. The appointment of our Deputy Principal has been a significant step in the development of our senior management team. Assessment for Learning as a teaching ethos has, I believe, given every student the opportunity to thrive in first year. As first year is the foundation stone for second level education, students need every opportunity to start second level affirmed that they can be great.

The journey ahead is an exciting and challenging one! I am conscious that we have a unique opportunity for teachers, parents and students to participate in the development of a new modern college that pursues educational excellence in a caring and inclusive environment. We will achieve these goals by working in partnership with one another.

Each year brings new events, each year will see new developments that we will embrace and Luttrellstown Community College will continue to grow as an active part of the community. Partnership is a core value we hold. This, our second Annual Report, is a summary of what has been achieved in our second year and how we have evaluated our work. It is the result of teamwork; contributions have been made by all partners in our school community. My thanks to all who contributed to the writing of this report.
